The Essure Procedure
Performed at FVRM by some of the most experienced reproductive health specialists in Northeast Wisconsin, the Essure procedure is the first and only female sterilization method to result in zero pregnancies during clinical trials.
It is done without incision by placing micro-inserts within the fallopian tubes. The Essure procedure differs from tubal ligation by offering these main advantages:
- The process can be completed at our Appleton clinic in less than 15 minutes and eliminates the need for a hospital stay
- A minimal recovery time is involved and most women are back to normal activity the following day
- General anesthesia is not required
The Essure procedure is permanent. It is NOT reversible, so you should be sure you do not want children in the future.
Please note Although some of our doctors do perform the Essure procedure, not all insurance carriers cover it and you will need to check with your insurance company first.
